Een van de meest originele puzzelaars!

Op het eerste gezicht is RoboSockets de zoveelste Tetris-kloon, maar in werkelijkheid is het een van de meest originele puzzelaars op de iPhone en iPad.

Je krijgt een standaard puzzelraster voor je neus dat langzaam wordt gevuld met robots die van bovenaan het scherm naar beneden vallen. Iedere robot heeft een aantal stekkers en je moet zorgen dat er vijf of meer robots op elkaar aansluiten, waarna ze exploderen. Op die manier wordt je scherm weer leeg en kun je robots aan elkaar koppelen om meer punten te verdienen.

Interessant spelconcept
De tactiek is om bepaalde robots op slimme posities te plaatsen en de opstapeling van losse robots zoveel mogelijk proberen te vermijden. Het stijltje van RoboSockets is erg mooi. De kleurrijke pixel art, de heerlijke retromuziek, de menu's en de animaties maken deze game erg tof. We waren ook erg onder de indruk van hoe soepel het spel loopt. Het matchen van de juiste robots is erg verslavend en de power-ups in de game (bommen, drilboren, et cetera) houden het spelconcept interessant.

Minder oppervlakkig
Tot het vijfde level in de verhaalmodus van RoboSockets waren we geneigd om een negatieve recensie te schrijven over de game, gezien het spel op het eerste gezicht belachelijk simpel en oppervlakkig lijkt. Gelukkig leerden we al heel snel dat de game je op deze manier bekend maakt met het spelconcept, zodat we niet overweldigd zouden raken. Het ergste dat we dan ook kunnen zeggen, is dat het spel even nodig heeft om op gang te komen.

Kortom
Met de lange campagnemodus, de verslavingsfactor en de vele time attack-modi, is RoboSockets één van die op Tetris geïnspireerde games die je lang bezig zal houden de komende tijd. Als je houdt van slim ontworpen puzzels met strategische diepgang, dan is RoboSockets absoluut de moeite waard. Deze iPhone- en iPad-puzzelaar innoveert met zijn unieke gameplay en behaagt door de charmante presentatie.
