Waarschijnlijk kennen we het allemaal wel. Je hoort een leuk nummer, of hebt een nummer in je hoofd, maar je weet niet hoe het heet. Voor dit probleem is er SoundHound.

SoundHound is een dienst die het mogelijk maakt om met je iPhone een kort fragment van een nummer op te nemen, om vervolgens de titel, artiest en andere relevante informatie te tonen. Dit doet de app door het opgenomen fragment naar een server te sturen waar het wordt geanalyseerd. Dit alles neemt slechts enkel seconden in beslag. Hiermee is de app sneller dan de vergelijkbare dienst Shazam.

Niet alleen op gebied van snelheid wint de app van zijn concurrent. SoundHound weet ook zelf gezongen nummers te identificeren. Daarnaast toont de app bij elk gevonden nummer leuke informatie, zoals de songtekst, vergelijkbare artiesten en het album waarop het nummer staat. Ook kunnen gevonden nummers direct worden aangeschaft in de AppStore.

Kortom
SoundHound is een erg handige app die het mogelijk maakt om de titel en artiest te zoeken bij een nummer dat je hoort of in je hoofd hebt. De app werkt erg goed en weet nummers snel te herkennen. Daarnaast toont de app leuke en relevante informatie bij elk nummer dat gevonden wordt.
